The Book Launch and Another Contest

My book launch for Dead in the Water was a lot of fun. dead_water

The weather couldn’t have been better, nor could the location.  We all enjoyed a band playing in the plaza next to the restaurant, drank some wine and ate tasty appetizers.  The Red Caboose Restaturant was a great location for the launch.

I wanted to add something sweet to the savory appetizers offered for the party, so I bought some dark chocolate kisses.  What to put them in?  I needed a candy dish.  In keeping with my philosophy of never buy new and with my protagonist’s love for secondhand merchandise, I found this lovely footed bowl.

The stamp on the bottom of the dish reads, “Made in the Czech Republic, Haas & Czixek, Handmade Fine Porecelain since 1792.”  There isn’t a chip or marr on the bowl.

So here’s the deal.  Add your comment to this blog and tell me how much you think I paid for the bowl.  The person who comes closest to the actual price will win a trade paper copy of the first book in the Eve Appel series,

A Secondhand Murder.  secondhand150 150

Only one entry per person and the contest ends at Midnight next Friday, August 1.  I’ll announce the winner on this blog on Saturday, August 2 and tell you a little secret about the bowl.

Good luck with your guess.
